Captain Kesler has had a love of saltwater fishing since the age of 12 when he started spending summers in Myrtle Beach and fishing inshore and offshore out of Murrells Inlet South Carolina while working a summer job at a family owned hotel. David went to school at UNCW where he continued his love of the ocean and fishing and obtained his OUPV (6 Pack) Captains License at the age of 20 while still in college.

David has had numerous articles published in fishing magazines and has also been a guest speaker at the Saltwater Sportsman seminar series. In the offseason David enjoys commercial fishing, fishing in other countries (Costa Rica and Panama are favorites) and doing boat transports on the east coast of the United States.

David then acquired his first boat at he age of 21 and begin saltwater fishing out of Wrightsville Beach. Since that time, Captain Kesler has owned or operated over a dozen boats and various fishing charter businesses on the coast of NC. Captain Kesler ran a charter service out of Morehead City and Southport before relocating back to Wilmington.

Captain Kesler is also a certified diver and his many years of experience allow him to know when and where to go for various species. David holds numerous citations including Bluefin tuna in excess of 600 pounds, a 112 pound wahoo, 31 pound red snapper and 38 pound red grouper among the more notable catches. Captain Kesler will work hard to make your day on the water a fun and successful one!
